Rooted in Islamic values, we are dedicated to empowering individuals and families through comprehensive, holistic support.

Quality Education

From nursery to secondary school and college, we provide education rooted in both the Zambian curriculum and Islamic studies, nurturing well-rounded individuals.

Healthcare & Welfare

Our Islamic day clinic serves over 6,000 patients monthly with subsidized healthcare, while our welfare programs distribute food, clothing, and Zakat to those in need.

Spiritual Guidance

Through Madrasah, Islamiyaat, and Dawah programs, we foster Islamic consciousness, moral integrity, and a deep connection to faith across all ages.

Over Five Decades of Service

From humble beginnings to a comprehensive community institution — here's how MIST grew.

1972

MIST Founded

Makeni Islamic Society Trust established in Lusaka, Zambia, to serve the spiritual and educational needs of the Muslim community.

1991

Islamic Clinic Opened

A day clinic established to provide affordable healthcare to both Muslim and non-Muslim community members.

1996

College of Education

Teacher training college established in partnership with the University of Zambia and Ministry of Education.

2007

Vocational Training College

Opened with carpentry, electrical, tailoring, computer skills, and plumbing programs to equip students with practical skills.

Today

Growing Impact

Serving 1,500+ students, operating across multiple departments, and providing healthcare to 6,000+ patients monthly.
